Santa Fe Trail talk scheduled

Amateur historian Steve Schmidt of Hesston, whose Marion County farmland preserves a piece of the 200-year-old Santa Fe Trail, will present an overview of the trail’s history at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at Pioneer Bluffs, one mile north of Matfield Green on K-177.

The talk will be free, but donations will be accepted.
