School board approves to keep funds account at Hillsboro State Bank
USD 410 board of education approved the operational funds account to stay at Hillsboro State Bank at Monday’s meeting.
USD 410 bids funds out to local banks for placements, and have been with Hillsboro State Bank the past 12 years.
The board also discussed re-cabling in the elementary school entry hallway, where cables wrap around beams.
“Instead of them running around the beams, they believe they can drill a hole through the beam,” superintendent Max Heinrichs said.
The cost for the re-cabling is $23,364, which $16,354 will be paid for by an e-rate grant.
Board member Jared Jost mentioned to Heinrichs he thought that they had previously approved the re-cabling, but Heinrichs said they had not.
In other business:
- Board members discussed having carpet in Hillsboro Elementary School’s art and vocal rooms cleaned, which would cost $3,900.
- Heinrichs told the board they are working with Tabor College to add additional classes to the high school program. “We might go exclusive if we can work out a deal,” Heinrichs said.
