NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Senior Citizens enjoy watermelon

Sixteen senior citizens enjoyed an annual watermelon and sides for dinner on Wednesday. The meal was hosted by the board, and Penni Ens and Sharon Ewing gave a report on Marion County Home Health Care.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to visit the home of Titus and Chelsea Koehn to see the new baby Tuesday evening. Hattie Koehn, Chelsea’s mother, was also visiting for a few days and helping with the new grandbaby.

Pete and Joyce Koehn, brother of Betty Wiebe, came on Thursday to visit the Wiebe home. Others that also visited in the area were the Kohen’s children, Jeff and Audrey Litwiller and Greg and Laura Koehn of Michigan, and Mike and Nada Schrock of Colorado and Junior Kohen. The Clayton Wiebes hosted a picnic supper Friday evening at their home for the out of state visitors and the Travis Kohen Family, Nelson Wiebe family, Wayne Wiebe family, Calvin Wiebe family and Loretta Wiebe. The out of state visitors as well as Clayton and Betty, Travis Koehn family, Nelson Wiebe family and Calvin Wiebe family attended a wedding at Halstead.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe enjoyed taking Ruth Boehs and Sandy Wiebe out dinner Sunday at Pizza Hut in Hillsboro.

Morning Star Church had a farewell after the services Sunday for Chet and Mellissa Boehs and family. They will be moving to Lakin.
