NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Seniors have watermelon, show-and-tell

Durham Senior Citizens met Aug. 28 at the Community Center. Lola Redger and Jaraine Redger were hostesses. Watermelon was the main attraction, and 18 members brought an object for show-and-tell.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe and Mark and Kris Wiebe and family were dinner guests of Heath and Tannis Dirks on Sept. 1.

Larry and Eileen Schmidt of Mississippi were overnight guests of Roy and Nadine Davis Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. They attended a wedding Sept. 1 in Halstead. Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys went to visit in the afternoon of Sept. 1. The Koehn family and the Schmidts were guests for breakfast on Sept. 2 in the Davis home before the Schmidts returned home.

The Dayton Unruh family gathered Aug. 30 and Sept. 1 at Camp Mennoscah near Murdock. The Larry Koehn family joined about 55 family members for the weekend.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and Janesea had a dinner Sept. 1 in their home with guests Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Chet and Melissa Boehs and Kaylyn, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht and Taylor, Leah Wedel, and Josh Koehn.

Mark and Barb Unruh went to a memorial service for Barb’s cousin, Paul Stutzman, who was also a close family friend. Services were Aug. 31 in Wood River, Neb.
