The Florence gymnasium at 6th and Barker Sts. will become haunted the next two weekends. For the second consecutive year, the Florence Labor Day committee will be hosting a haunted house from 7 to 10 p.m. on the evenings of Oct. 23, 24, 30, and 31
There will be prizes for all kids who survive the experience after they exit the basement. For young children and toddlers, the tour will be toned down. Refreshments also will be served.
Halloween night, Florence residents are encouraged to bring candy to the gym to hand out to parading trick or treaters from 7 to 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes, children to adult. A soup supper will precede that event at 6 p.m.
This year’s event will raise funds for the annual Florence Labor Day Celebration.
Tickets at the door will cost $10 for adults, $5 for children. Adults can save $2 and children $1 by purchasing advance tickets in Florence at the Cottonwood Valley Bank and city offices or in Marion at the Marion County Record office.
