Sue Ann (Gwennap) Brown passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at her home in Hillsboro, Kansas at the age of 50.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1964, in Smith Center, Kansas, to Dale and Delores (Bronson) Gwennap. She grew up and attended high school in Smith Center.

She was working at the Country Style Living Café when she met Tim Brown. They were united in marriage on May 12, 1984, at the First Presbyterian Church in Smith Center.

They were married for over 30 years. To this union four children were born — Marti Reney, Megan Sue, Melissa Kay, and Matthew Ryan.

Tim, Sue, and Marti spent the first year of the marriage traveling while Tim custom harvested wheat. They then moved to the family farm in rural Smith County.

After all the children were born, the family moved to Delphos, Kansas, where they lived for over 10 years. Sue was very active in her children’s school, sports, and 4-H activities.

After most of the children had graduated, Tim and Sue made their home in Hillsboro, Kansas, where she lived until the time of her death.

In her leisure time, Sue enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s 4-H and livestock activities. She also enjoyed attending their school activities and sporting events. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she enjoyed every precious moment with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Irl Dean, and a nephew Mark Huffman.

She is survived by her husband Tim Brown of the home; three daughters, Marti (Shawn) Newton of Clyde, Kansas, Megan Brown of Marion, Kansas, and Melissa (Chad) Cannon of Topeka, Kansas; son Matthew Brown of Red Cloud, Nebraska; grandchildren Dalyn Zachgo, Calleigh Soyez, Michael Newton, Wyatt Soyez, Hitch Soyez, Jacob Newton, Chloe Cannon, and Gage Cannon; brothers Larry Gwennap and Rick (Julie) Gwennap; sisters Betty Hamme, Pam (Dick) Huffman, Ellen (David) Kopsa, Deb (Jerry) Allen, and Tracy (Troy) Lammers; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, as well as many friends and extended family.

Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Delphos, Kansas.
