Suspect's handgun found after 3 days
Hillsboro police found a handgun Thursday at 3rd and Elm Sts. in connection with a manhunt for a suspect who led law enforcement on a high-speed chase Dec. 2 in Hillsboro.
The firearm was in an abandoned vehicle, in the same area where Jonathan R. Hurst, 26, Colorado, was arrested Dec. 2 on suspicion of possession of marijuana and evading law enforcement.
Hurst was transferred to McPherson County Jail since the incident originated in McPherson County.
He was charged in court with distributing marijuana between 450 grams and 30 kilograms, fleeing law enforcement, interfering with an investigation, transporting an open container, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
