Tabor baseball clinches regular season title

The Tabor College baseball team won all four of its games last week, clinching the KCAC regular season title.

The Bluejays defeated Bethany 6-5 and 16-1 Thursday in Lindsborg before defeating the Swedes 7-5 and 4-0 Saturday in Hillsboro. This week Tabor finishes the regular season against McPherson College, Friday in McPherson and Saturday in Hillsboro.

With a 20-4 record, the Bluejays are three games ahead of No. 25 Sterling College, which defeated Tabor three times this season.

Currently the 14th-ranked team in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics coaches’ top 25 poll, Tabor has been selected as one of nine teams to host opening round games in the national tournament May 12-15. It is Tabor’s second opportunity to host since 2012, and will be held at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson.
