Tabor baseball sweeps Ottawa

Tabor College baseball improved to 24-5 on the season last week after winning all four games in a doubleheader with Ottawa University.

Thursday in Ottawa, the Bluejays pounded the Braves 9-2 and 16-9. Tabor remained unbeaten at home Saturday when the Braves visited Hillsboro, winning 7-1 and 9-0.

The Bluejays play next against Kansas Wesleyan University Friday and Saturday. Both doubleheaders begin at 1 p.m., Friday in Hillsboro and Saturday in Salina. Tuesday at 1 p.m. Tabor plays St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, Okla., followed by a 5 p.m. game against Oklahoma Baptist University.

Softball leaves Tucson with win

After losing its first four games in the Tucson Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., the Tabor softball team finished defeating Mayville State University 8-3. The win stopped a 10-game losing streak for the Bluejays.

Returning home Saturday, Tabor lost 12-6 and 9-6 to No. 16 St. Gregory’s University.

The Lady Jays play next at 1 p.m. Saturday against Bethel College in Hillsboro and at 4 p.m. Monday in Olathe against MidAmerica Nazarene University.
