Tabor choirs to present spring concert

The Tabor College choirs will present a spring concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

The women of the Concert Choir and Concerto Bella Voce women’s chorale will join together to perform Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols,” accompanied by harpist Jane Hyde of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. It will be directed by assistant professor of choral music Janie Brokenicky. Voice professor Holly Swartzendruber will be a featured soloist and will perform a duet with senior Jessica Coldwell.

The Concert Choir men will be joined by 10 recent alums to present five hymn settings by J. Harold Moyer.

Featured instrumentalists will be junior Benjamin Wiens on oboe and freshman Kirsten Neufeld on horn. Featured alums will be Ralph Vogel on tuba and Steven Hanneman and Paul Epp on trumpet.

Other featured instrumentalists will be adjunct instructors Howard Glanton on guitar, Stephen Vincent on organ and piano, and Brian Postier on trombone. Band and orchestra director Daniel Baldwin will be a featured trombonist.
