Tabor College officials are considering possible disciplinary actions for two Bluejays football players charged with minor drug offenses Feb. 19.
Hillsboro police officer Gary Slater stopped a vehicle exiting a prohibited area on an old railroad bank near city sewage ponds.
Bluejays players Gregory Munetz, 21, Belle Rose, New York, and Hunter Blanchard, 19, Yukon, Oklahoma were inside.
A search of the vehicle turned up a small bag of marijuana and two pipes, according to Chief Dan Kinning.
Munetz, a sophomore, faces a charge of possession of marijuana.
Blanchard, a freshman, faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Amy Doane, director of communications at Tabor, said the college does not comment on specific disciplinary matters or pending legal actions of individuals.
“The college addresses all potential discipline issues in accordance with our policy,” Doane said.
