Suzanne Unruh, a former softball All-American at Cowley County Community College, has been named new head coach of the Tabor College softball team.
Unruh spent the past seven seasons as assistant coach at Cowley County. She helped lead the Tigers to six consecutive Jayhawk East Conference Championships — from 2004 to 2009 — and four National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament appearances, placing as high as fourth.
She also helped develop 10 All-Americans, 16 all-region players, and six Academic All-Americans.
Unruh was a two-time All-American as a player.
“I am looking forward to helping my players develop to the best of their ability both on the field and in the classroom,” Unruh said.
Unruh and her husband, Mike, have been married for three years. They have a daughter, Kinlee, who is 2 years old and a son, Caden, who is 4 months old.
