Tabor men shut out OW Eagles

The Tabor College men’s soccer team recorded its second shutout of the year Wednesday, beating Oklahoma Wesleyan 1-0 at home.

The victory was the Bluejays’ second of the season, and their second shutout.

Senior Silas Hibbs provided the only goal of the match, despite the Bluejays registering 13 shots on goal.

Tabor’s defense allowed only one shot on goal the entire match, as junior goaltender Aaron Schmucker recorded his second shutout of the year.

“Our men made a good effort,” head coach Grant Brubacher said. “Our defense allowed only a handful of good chances and our offense provided quality possessions and good chances at goals.

“It was good to get our first home win of the season.”

Tabor (2-5) traveled to Fulton, Mo. Monday to take on William Woods University.

They will return home Saturday to open KCAC play against the University of St. Mary.
