Tabor player picked for coaching

Tabor senior basketball player Terran Hoyt has been chosen to participate in the Women’s Basketball Coach Association’s 18th annual “So you want to be a coach” program.

The program mentors female collegiate basketball players interested in pursuing coaching careers.

Details regarding this year’s recipients have yet to be released, but only 60 student-athletes were selected last year from NCAA and NAIA divisions, including seven from NAIA institutions.

The desire to coach runs in Hoyt’s family.

Her mother, Shelly, is a high school coach who recently won her 500th game.

Her sister, Jacie, coaches at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Terran, a communications and business administration, is Tabor’s first player selected to the program.
