Tabor provost resigns

Tabor College Provost Dr. Lawrence Ressler has announced the he will be leaving the college at the end of the semester to accept a faculty position at Taylor University, Upland, Ind., where he will be a professor of social work.

“Tabor College is a great institution with great people and a great mission,” Ressler said. “I have truly enjoyed my time here. But it is time for me to get back to my first loves — teaching and scholarship.”

Ressler has been employed by Tabor for the past five years. He began serving Tabor as vice president of academics and student life. His responsibilities changed to provost and academic dean in 2008, including serving as second in command on campus with oversight of academics, external programs, technology, and continuous improvement.

He is provost, dean of the faculty, and professor of behavioral sciences and will continue to work at the college until the end of June.
