Tennis teams finish seasons

Tabor men’s and women’s tennis teams finished competition Monday against Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. The men shutout the Coyotes 9-0, but the women lost 6-3. In North Newton against Bethel April 16, both teams were blanked by the Threshers, 9-0.

Softball gearing for season’s end

The Lady Bluejays began last week with losses to the University of St. Mary, but rebounded later against Sterling.

The team lost 5-1 and 6-0 April 16 in Leavenworth, but defeated the Warriors 7-1 and 6-3 Saturday in Hillsboro. Tabor played McPherson Tuesday night in McPherson.

Tabor will finish its regular season schedule against two non-conference foes this week. They play first at 2 p.m. today against MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, then at 5 p.m. Friday against Haskell Indian Nations in Hillsboro.

Track athletes shine in home meet

As the season winds down, head track coach David Kroeker said athletes are peaking at the right time.

In a home meet, Tabor athletes won in different areas. For the men, Paul Williams won the 10,000-meter race, Robert Nenadal won the hammer throw, Tyler Entz won the high jump, and the 4x800-meter relay team placed first. Alex Grier and Caleb Blue placed second in the 100 and 400-meter dashes, respectively.

Brielle Lund won the 15,000, as did Hannah Holmes in the 5,000 for the women. Kristen Harris placed second in the 400-meter hurdles.
