Tabor Starbucks opens with bang

It was a humdinger of an opening day Thursday for Starbucks coffee shop in Tabor College’s Shari Flaming Center for the Arts.
Manager Emma Roberts said the doors opened at 7 a.m. with an offer of a free cup of coffee to the first 500 customers. She had two assistants.
Teachers showed up in the morning, and as the word got out, long lines soon began forming. At its height, people had to wait 30 minutes to put in an order, Roberts said.
The coffee bar was open until 3 p.m.
“It went very well,” Roberts said. “We were excited for the turnout. We sold 300 cups but it felt like 500.”
The coffee bar offers other drinks like cappuccino and chai tea as well as a variety of blended coffees.
