Tabor tabs Trojan for leadership program
A Hillsboro High School senior is among six incoming Tabor College students selected to participate in the college’s Presidential Leadership Program.
Abby Sechrist of Hillsboro competed against 23 other candidates during a variety of selection weekend activities that included an interview with college president Jules Glanzer.
The Presidential Leadership Progam gives students opportunities to be mentored by effective and Godly leaders as they develop their own leadership skills. Leadership scholars also receive $22,000 scholarships.
The college typically awards four scholarships, but was able to award six this year.
“During the past two years, we have had scholars graduate in three years, reducing the intended number of participants in the program,” Glanzer said. “By choosing six this year, we are filling the void that came as a result of early graduation by some of the scholars.”
Other selected scholars include Sarah Glosson, Wichita; Nathan Kemling, Grant, Nebraska; Devon Rickets, Colorado Springs, Colorado; David Wiens, Half Moon Bay, California; and Jessa Yaussi, Frankfort.
