Seniors fill out survey
Sunflower Senior Citizens met April 9 at the senior center with Tom and Dee Duggan as hosts. A Mexican meal was served followed by a program.
Gayla Ratzlaff from the Marion County Department on Aging asked members to complete a survey to help evaluate the county’s services for seniors, Father Paul Oborny presented an amusing musical program. Mary Clemmer was presented with a small cake with a candle in honor of her birthday. Others present were Raymond and Janet Bielefeld, Betty Mueller, Sue Yanda, Shirley Zaideman, Kathy Kroupa, Connie McMahan, Kathy Davis, Kent Becker, Leona Kleiber, Phylllis Mueller, Adeline Bernhardt, Gary and Carole Spohn, Georgia Spohn and Jane Vajnar.
Lucille Kerbs visited her daughter, Connie Thompson, April 9 in Abilene. They were joined by Allison Sluder and Brooklyn for dinner out.
Tampa residents enjoyed their last winter game night April 7. However, Carla Hajek announced that PRIDE will sponsor parties in the park the first Sunday of each month during the summer.
Family members helping Bev Reid of Marion celebrate her birthday with dinner out were Tom Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Paul and Edna Backhus and Alisha Barney. After dinner, they came to Paul and Edna’s home for dessert and gifts.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended a bridal shower at the Catholic parish hall in Hope April 7 honoring Amanda Dillon and Chad Hairston.
Jerry and Jeanne Rziha spent April 6 and 7 with Ron and May Hammerschmidt of Topeka.
Deb Hall and Kaylee, Makena and Liz of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan attended a barbecue dinner April 7 at the Rock Island Church in Herington. The event was a fundraiser for missions.
Phyllis Branson and Jane Vajnar attended the Butler County Community College free classes April 6.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham and Paulette Zook of Florence April 5 in Hillsboro. They attended Lifelong Learning at Tabor and enjoyed dinner out. The Tabor program consisted of a lecture about depression-era glassware.
