Russ and Julie Kerbs took his mother, Lucille Kerbs, out for supper to Lost Springs on Feb. 15 in celebration of her birthday. Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro and Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen joined them. Earlier that day, Lucille’s daughter, Connie Thompson, came to Tampa and took her out for dinner. Lucille also gratefully received many nice birthday cards and phone calls on her special day.

Leona Kleiber was a Feb. 15 supper guest of Dale and Andrea Klenda, Elijah and Evan at their rural Pilsen home. A special part of the evening was the opportunity to read stories to the boys and sing with them.

Sunflower Senior Citizens enjoyed dinner at the café Feb. 14, followed by dessert and a program and business meeting at the senior center. Gary and Carole Spohn were hosts. Danny Williamson presented a talk about Good Shepherd Poultry Farms. Others present were Tom and Dee Duggan, Raymond and Janet Bielefeld, Leo and Sue Yanda, Betty Mueller, Shirley Zaideman, Mary Clemmer, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Georgia Spohn, Tillie Hein, and Jane Vajnar.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the retirement reception for Bob Manspeaker Feb. 11. They visited Catarina Rziha, Isabel, Samuel, and Kathrine earlier that day. They went to Elmo with Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole on Feb. 12 to attend the birthday dinner at the Catholic church, and attended game night in Ramona that evening. They met Deb Hall and Kaylee and Makena Crosby of Herington at Hope Feb. 14 for a Valentine’s Day dinner.

Jane Vajnar visited David and Catarina Rziha, Samuel and Kathrine on Feb. 14.

Feb. 12 dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs were Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro, Jesse Smith and Sydney of Pilsen, and Lucille Kerbs. Ashton Smith joined them later in the afternoon.

Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene on Feb. 11 to visit Connie Thompson. Jeremy and Allison Sluder joined them for dinner out.

Lori Moldenhauer and Jane Vajnar attended the valentine supper at the café Feb. 11.

Several people from this area attended the homecoming game at Trinity Academy in Wichita Feb. 10 to see Sarah Lewis, daughter of John and Wanda Lewis, crowned homecoming queen. Those attending included Don and Ophelia Jacobson, Greg Jacobson, Phyllis Mueller, Rod Mueller, Paul and Edna Backhus, Jason Backhus, Alisha Barney, Bev and Tom Reid, and Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody.

Sydney Smith spent the day with her great-grandmother, Lucille Kerbs, on Feb. 10.

Lori Moldenhauer and Anna Mae Stika attended the Tabitha Circle Valentine’s Day meeting in Herington on Feb. 8. Lisa Hanschu and Anna spent the evening with Frank Stika while they were gone.

Lucille Kerbs met Dorothy Ensz in Hillsboro Thursday for dinner out. Later, they visited Mildred Steinle at Parkside Homes.

Irma Benda visited Frank and Anna Mae Stika on Feb. 8.
