The next Tampa community game night will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Tampa Senior Center. Guests are asked to bring a snack to share. The hall will open at 6 p.m. so people can come early and view renovations to the center.

The community has come together to transform the center, with volunteer contributions from Julie Kerbs, Carla Hajek, Francie Mueller, Greg Berens, Connie McMahon, Amber Peterson, Lee Sorenson, Nicole Rowley, Alex Hajek, Amy Hajek, Russ Kerbs, Ashton Smith, Tyler Richmond, Jessica Deines, Tom Duggan, David Rziha, John Hajek, Donald Mueller, Andrew Hajek, Ty Peterson, Tim Svoboda, Gary Spohn, Carole Spohn, Francis Jirak, Mary Jirak, Betty Mueller, Janet Bielefeld, Raymond Bielefeld, Kathy Davis, Tanner Peterson, and possibly others. This was a real community effort.

Drew Rathbun of Chapman and Jane Vajnar accompanied Kem and Autumn Chisholm to Manhattan on Feb. 22 for the women’s basketball game between Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University. The Chisholms are K-State player JuliAnne Chisholm’s parents.

Edna Mueller died Feb. 18 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. She was a lifelong resident of the Tampa area and has many family and relatives there. The funeral was at St. John’s Lutheran Church with a lunch afterward at the senior center.

Lucille Kerbs met Jan Meisinger on Monday in Hillsboro for dinner out.

Tom and Dee Duggan were Feb. 19 overnight guests of Darla Hall of Lee’s Summit, Mo. Adam Hall of Springfield, Mo., was also a guest. En route home Feb. 20, the Duggans stopped at Council Grove to see their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, compete in a middle school scholars’ bowl meet.

Anna Weber’s volleyball team took first place in a tournament Feb. 19 in Topeka.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha were weekend guests of Wayne Rziha, Cecilia Marie, Anthony, and Daniel of Tulsa, Okla.

Rustyn Kerbs of Hillsboro, Jesse and Ashton Smith and Sydney of Pilsen, and Lucille Kerbs were Feb. 19 dinner guests of Russ and Julie Kerbs.

Tom and Bev Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Cody of Hillsboro, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Alisha Barney were Feb. 19 dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus. The occasion was a celebration of Barney’s birthday.

Deb Hall of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan attended a Valentine dinner Feb. 19 at First Baptist Church in Herington. Kaylee Hall’s youth group was serving.

Nikki Stenzel and Mark Gilford of Manhattan, Lori Moldenhauer, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna were Feb. 19 supper guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika. The occasion was a belated celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City spent Feb. 16 and 17 with his mother, Lucille Kerbs. He attended meetings Feb. 17 and 18 at Bethany College in Lindsborg.

Dee Duggan attended a card party Feb. 17 at the home of Rhea Kolling in Herington.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Marion County Senior Citizens Board meeting Friday in Durham.

The headline for last week’s Tampa news mistakenly called Lucille Kerbs, “Leona Kerbs.”
