Marion emerged with a 4-2 record after three road trips to start the season.
Hillsboro opened its season at home with two losses to Hesston.
The Warriors are 4-2 for a season record after traveling to Conway Springs, winning twice in the season opened, then to Remington, where they again won twice before losing twice Friday to Little River Friday, 11-3 and 17-4.
Jack Lanning is leading the Warriors with a .583 batting average, 5 bases stolen, 14 hits, and 14 runs.
Lander Smith leads the team in on base percentage at .652. Gavin Wasmuth leads with 10 runs batted in.
“So far we have pitched pretty well,” coach Roger Schroeder said., “but have struggled defensively, making things harder on our pitching staff, which is a little thin early in the season.
“Offensively, we have been wildly inconsistent — lots of poor swings and approaches leading to giving up too many at bats.”
Marion will be host to Canton-Galva (2-2) Tuesday.
The Trojans lost both games in their home opener against the Hesston Swathers, 16-0 and 19-4.
“The results of these games are not what we wanted,” coach Daniel Moss said, “but we are a young and inexperienced team that will learn from them and get better as the season progresses,”
The four runs in the second game were scored by Dawson Boldt, Kole Willis-Dirks, Zander Haslett, and Frito Wortmann.
The next home game for the Trojans (0-2) will be Thursday against Smoky Valley (0-2).
