Thanksgiving abounds

Many folks gathered with family and friends for Thanksgiving.

The family of Lela Wedel got together at Sugar Creek School near Galva. Kelly and Karleen Koehn were hosts.

Guests in the home of Greg and Charlene Wedel on Thusday were Wendell and Linda Wedel and Travis and Connie Becker and family.

The Ron Unruh family gathered Thursday at the Unruh home. Guests were Jim and Brenda Enns; Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matt; Mark and Barb Unruh; Sarah Unruh; Logan Ryff; Katelin Hendricks, Jayden and Allie; Warren and Anita Unruh, Kyle and Jenna; David and Ashley Enns and family; Darren and Corina Enns; and Colby Foerg. Brenda’s Thursday birthday and Kyle’s Friday birthday were recognized.

Nelson and Bev Wiebe and Jacob, Wayne and Lora lee Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Loretta Wiebe enjoyed dinner Thursday at the Clayton Wiebe home.

Rick and LaVae Koehn and family and Tim Davis were dinner guests Thursday at the home of Roy and Nadine Davis.

Dinner guests at the Ransom Wiebe home Sunday were Harlan and Sherry Koehn and Mike Ryff of Hope.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe took Sunday dinner to the home of Vernon and Judy Koehn at Moundridge on Sunday.

Dora Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh, and Katelin Hendricks with Jayden and Allie joined the Duerksen family Saturday at Goessel for a potluck supper at the city building. The Thanksgiving gathering was hosted by the Milt Duerksen family.

Anthony and Beth Wiebe entertained several Ransom Wiebe family members for Thanksgiving dinner. Guests were Ransom and Lillian; Merlin and Karletta Wiebe; Jason and Sheri Wiebe, Julie, Shannon and Matthew; and Justin and Rebecca Wiebe of Iowa.

Morning Star Church youth held their annual friendship supper Nov. 16 at the church. A meal was served to about 85 seniors of the community and a musical program was presented.

Calvin and Janene Wiebe took their son, Jaron, to the airport Nov. 18. He flew to Mullins, South Carolina, where he with thre other young men will spend six months at a V S Unit helping rebuild homes that were destroyed by disasters.

Randy and Laura Unruh and Adam and Grant Fleetwood of Pennsylvania were house guests of his sister Rebecca and Bryan Thompson the weekend of Nov. 18 and visited other relatives and friends. On Sunday evening they got to gather at the home of grandparents Ransom and Lillian Wiebe after church for refreshments and visiting. Guests were the visitors, Thompson family, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, Mark and Kris Wiebe, Jason and Sheri Wiebe, Shannon and Julie, Calla Wengar, Anthony and Beth Wiebe and family, and Aaron and Janessa Herbel and Kade.

Durham Seniors met Nov. 22 at the community building for a turkey dinner prepared by the board, who were hosts. Fourteen enjoyed the meal and visiting. Lila Unruh had made a cake in honor of Doris Crowther’s recent 90th birthday.
