NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Thanksgiving dinners abound

Curt and Jeanne Stutzman and family from Harrisonburg, Virginia, were Thanksgiving weekend guests of Mark and Barb Unruh. Curt is Barb’s brother.

Sixty-four members of the Harry Wedel family held a potluck at the community building in Galva on Thanksgiving Day. The Harry Rhodes family served as host.

Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family and Chet and Mellissa Boehs and family were Thanksgiving Day dinner guests at the home of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe.

Lola Redger’s family had a family dinner in Newton on Thanksgiving Day.

Greg and Charlene Wedel invited Wendell and Linda Wedel and Travis and Connie Becker to dinner on Thanksgiving Day. They also celebrated Wendell’s birthday.

Dinner guests of Larry and Wanda Koehn on Thanksgiving Day were Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Tim and Shelia Koehn and family, Titus and Chelsea Koehn, and Leonard and Dianne Peachy and family.

Mark and Kris Wiebe, Kayla and Luke, visited their daughter Karalee at Shippensburg, Pennsylvania for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe visited their daughter Loretta in Fountain Run, Kentucky, during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe hosted a family supper Nov. 30. Guests were Anthony and Beth Wiebe and family, Kendall and Susie Wiebe and family, and Aaron and Janessa Herbel. They had a belated birthday celebration for Janessa.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe entertained Tim and Shelia Wiebe and family, Leonard and Dianne Peachy and family, and Jasper and Joni Zeiset with a dinner Nov. 30.

Larry and Wanda Koehn visited Esther Unruh at Moundridge Manor Nov. 26 to celebrate her 91st birthday.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe attended a memorial service Nov. 26 at the Halstead church for their friend, Franklin Dirks.

The family of Henry Redger, a former lifetime farmer in the area, celebrated his 95th birthday with a supper Nov. 28 at Cottonwood Grove School. All of his children were present, including those from Louisiana, Arkansas, Canada, and Moundridge. At an open house later that evening, many well-wishers greeted Henry. Refreshments were served.

Calvin and Janene Wiebe hosted a celebration Nov. 30 for Morgan’s eighth birthday and Dustin Rhodes’ seventh birthday. Guests were Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, Ken and Shelli Giesbrecht, Taylor and Darrin, Meri Kay Rhodes and family, and Terry and Robyn Schultz and family.
