Thouvenell trial delayed

Two weeks before Sheila Thouvenell’s trial on three counts of aggravated witness intimidation and two counts of aggravated child endangerment was set to begin, it has been delayed three months.
Her attorney, Stephen Johnson of Newton, has yet provided District Judge Mike Powers a list of specific audio-visual recording he was kept from the jury. The list was due Nov. 27.
Johnson contends all witnesses are available to testify in person and the prosecution has not specified which recordings it intends to use.
The charges against Thouvenell stem from incidents allegedly occurring between June 30, 2014, and Aug. 8, 2016, involving three children.
She is accused of attempting to prevent witness or victim from reporting alleged actions of her husband, Jerry Thouvenell.
Jerry Thouvenell is charged with 12 counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14. The charges stem from incidents between Jan. 1, 2012, and Aug. 8, 2016. In each count, he is accused of engaging in lewd fondling or touching a child. He also is charged with battery of a child. His trial is scheduled for February.
