Toy run revving up for action

Marion County’s annual Toy Run will begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 at Sher Bowl Lanes in Marion and proceed to Hillsboro’s American Legion, where a chili feed and auction will raise money.

Each person riding in the run donates a new toy and food items that will be given to Marion County food bank.

Motorcycles and classic car owners can drive in the run.

Last year’s run raised $13,000. Money is given to ministerial alliances, community Christmas committees, the food bank, and child-care organizations.

Vintage Bank in Hillsboro will collect toys including contributions from people not participating in the run.

Hillsboro Sons of American Legion, Abate, and Route 56 Classic Cruisers coordinate the run.

Monetary donations may be mailed to 405 S. Floral Dr., Hillsboro KS 67063 or given to a member of the groups coordinating the run.

Donations for a planned auction are being accepted as well. Additional information is available from run treasurer Tom Koslowsky at (629) 877-0070.
