Traffic stop yields drug arrest

A Wichita woman was arrested late Monday in Florence after a drug dog smelled methamphetamine and THC in her car during a traffic stop.

Michelle L. Vining, 53, was booked into jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, THC, and drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

Sheriff Jeff Soyez said Vining had personal use amounts of drugs with her and glass pipes for drug use.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputy Joel Womochil pulled over Vining at Doyle and 8th St., then summoned the department’s drug dog handler, deputy Matthew Regier, to have Yoko sniff the car.

Deputies also seized Vining’s car.

As of press time, no bond has been set for Vining.
