Trailer demolished in driveway

Marion electric supervisor Steven Hart’s 2010 Keystone RV Outback travel trailer was likely totaled — perhaps maliciously — while Hart was away from home.

Hart reported to Marion police that he found the damaged trailer when he returned at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 to his residence in the 500 block of W. Santa Fe St.

The trailer was parked in Hart’s driveway and had apparently been hit by another vehicle, officer Zach Hudlin said.

While the damage to the trailer was consistent with it having been struck by another vehicle, the trailer was parked far enough into Hart’s driveway that Hudlin did not think it was an accident.

The layout of streets in the area would not make it possible that another vehicle ran through an intersection and into the driveway, Hudlin said.

No suspects have been identified. Hart was away from home from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hart's name was misspelled in some editions of the week's paper.
