Trio nabbed in drug raid

A simple Harvey County warrant arrest Sunday at Goessel ended up anything but simple —deputies netted three people on suspicion of drug charges.

Undersheriff David Huntley said deputies went to a Goessel residence to arrest a man on a Harvey County warrant for possession of methamphetamine. However, three occupants of the residence ended up being arrested.

Arrested was Briana Stoetzel, 23, on suspicion of interfering with a law enforcement officer and three counts of criminal use of a weapon — possession by an addict, possession while a fugitive, and possession by a person convicted of domestic battery.

Stoetzel was earlier jailed July 3 on suspicion of aggravated assault, domestic battery, and criminal damage to property.

“They weren’t being cooperative and a weapon was found in her proximity,” Huntley said.

Arrested Monday were Devin Sutherland, 32, on suspicion of interfering with law enforcement, and Christopher Weeks, 36, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and criminal use of weapons.
