Trojan baseball team posts 3-2 week
Softball team sweeps Hesston
With postseason play beginning next week, the Trojan baseball and softball teams are gaining momentum.
In baseball action, the Trojans went 3-2 last week, beginning April 30 with the postponed game from an April 13 meeting at Hoisington.
Hillsboro’s 10-7 win made for a clean sweep of the Cardinals, with Landon Roberts picking up the win on the mound.
The Trojans stayed hot Tuesday, sweeping Halstead on the road, 13-7, and 6-3.
Hillsboro’s week concluded Friday, dropping a pair to Hesston by 7-4 and 7-6 decisions in the season’s home finale.
The Trojans are still a game above .500 at 9-8, heading into the Lyons’ regional starting Monday.
The softball team closed out its week Friday, sweeping Hesston by 21-6 and 5-1 scores.
The Trojans will compete in Monday’s Canton-Galva regional.
