Trojan cross-country team wins again

The Hillsboro High School boys cross-country team won its second consecutive meet Sept. 21 at Southeast of Saline.

Joel Allen won the race with a time of 17 minutes, 11.82 seconds.

Bret Mueller was the next Trojan runner to cross the finish line, finishing 13th with a time of 18:58.13.

A few places behind Mueller were Justin King in 16th place and Josh Richert at 18th; they ran times of 19:03.40 and 19:08.01, respectively.

Avery Franz rounded out the Trojans five-man team with a 41st finish and a time of 21:25.77.

“It is great to win a meet with 20 schools competing but we want to stay focused on continuing to improve,” coach Stuart Holmes said.

Samatha Ens was the only Trojan runner in the girls race. She finished 56th with a time of 20:27.54
