The Hillsboro Trojans cross-country team competed in their first meet of the year Thursday at Smoky Valley logging some hardware for notable achievements.

Boys’ runner Jonathan Hinerman took third among junior and senior boys with a time of 17:32.

“It was a great first meet for our team,” Haude said. “Jonathon and Abby both ran strong races. I am very proud of all our kids.”

The boys’ team placed fifth out of five teams. Caleb Rempel placed 19th individually at 20:59 and Tucker Moss placed 21st at 21:51 for the boys’ team.
