Trojan tennis makes sophomore effort

A trio of Hillsboro sophomores are about to get their tennis game on.

Jacob Isaac, Dakota Klein, and Dylan Wiens return for a second season.

Last year, all three were letter winners. Coach Stuart Holmes said he is excited to see what the they’ll accomplish.

“The guys seem focused,” Holmes said. “Our guys dedicate themselves to getting better.”

Isaac and Wiens both competed in varsity 321A regionals last year but neither progressed to state.

“We’ll be working hard to become solid tennis players and compete against the best,” Holmes said.

Holmes plans to push them to improve at every practice. He wants them to compete with integrity, and help each other have a positive experience.

“Tennis provides a great opportunity to challenge yourself mentally as well as physically and we want to grow in both areas,” he said.

The Trojans’ first match is Thursday in Conway Springs.
