Trojan volleyball comes in fourth at tournament
The Hillsboro High School’s volleyball team finished fourth Saturday at the Southeast of Saline tournament in Gypsum.
The Trojans stand a game above .500 for the year at 7-6.
Hillsboro opened by toppling Class 4A Circle in two sets, 25-22 and 25-21.
Hillsboro downed the hosting Trojans in the second match with scores of 25-22 and 25-2.
The Trojans outlasted Abilene in three sets after the Cowgirls forced a third with a 25-20 win.
Hillsboro won the first set 25-14 and secured the win with a 25-22 victory.
The Trojans ran into trouble when they couldn’t keep it going in bracket play, though, dropping both matches in as many sets.
Smoky Valley topped them in the first match by 25-14 scores and Circle avenged the earlier loss with 25-20 and 26-24 wins.
