Trojan volleyball drops pair

While the Hillsboro volleyball team has faced some tough competition on the year, perhaps no date on the regular season schedule was more ominous than the Sept. 26 home triangular against CKL giants Kingman and Hesston.

Among the top teams in Class 3A, Kingman has yet to suffer a loss with one of the Lady Swathers’ two courtesy of the Lady Eagles.

The Trojans played a good first set in the opener against the Eagles, but fell short 25-21.

The second set wasn’t as good with Kingman prevailing 25-13.

In their second meeting with the Swathers in the finale, the Trojans’ luck had yet to change with Hesston capturing 25-15 and 25-18 wins, respectively.

The losses drop the Trojans to 7-12 on the year and 2-5 in CKL action.

Hillsboro faces a busy, grueling weekend Saturday competing in the McPherson Invitational.
