Quick Viking start slingshots past Hillsboro, 44-22
Ishmael Morris scored three touchdowns Friday night, but it wasn’t enough as a quick start by the hosting Smoky Valley Vikings left Hillsboro on the down end of a 44-22 loss.
The Trojans (1-1) got as close as 20-16 before Smoky Valley added two more scores to put the game out of reach at halftime, 36-16.
Of the Vikings’ seven scores, Dustin Gfeller accounted for five of them.
Morris scored on an 85-yard kickoff return, and one and 78-yard runs.
Hillsboro will travel Friday to Ellinwood for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Eagles.
