Trojans finish 2nd at Sacred Heart

The Hillsboro High School golf team finished second in the two-man and four-man brackets Friday at the Sacred Heart Invitational in Salina.

Daniel Kunantaev shot a 77 to finish first among golfers from nine teams.

“It was good to see Daniel put together a strong back nine and win his first tournament of the season,” coach Scott O’Hare said. “Daniel was striking the ball pretty well but once again struggled on the greens with his putting stroke.”

Daniel Dick shot an 87, good enough for ninth place.

“Daniel Dick is starting to hit the ball pretty well and is playing more consistently,” O’Hare said. “I believe he still has potential to score in the low 80s.”

Devin Dick, 90, Jared King, 94, and Evan Just, 103, rounded out Hillsboro’s six-man squad.
