Trojans run rule Kingman

The Hillsboro High School softball team won both games Friday at Kingman.
The Trojans won their first game, 13-3, in five innings. Amy Bartel and Sammy Koons were both 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Courtney Weber got the win on the mound with five innings pitched, four strikeouts while allowing four hits, and giving up a walk.
Hillsboro won the second game, 18-3, in three innings. The Trojans batted around their lineup in the first two innings.
In her second at-bat in the first inning, Taylor Nikkel hit a home run; her 1-for-2 night was good for four RBIs. In the middle of the order, Tena Loewen and Danae Bina both went 3-for-3 with three runs. Bina also had four RBIs to Loewen’s one.
Weber also got the win in the second game, although she pitched an inning and a third with Loewen coming in for relief.
