Trojans tumble in season opener
The Hillsboro High School football team’s season got off to a sour start Friday night, against perennial pest Hesston.
Despite a solid first half that left the Trojans only trailing 22-14, Hillsboro didn’t have enough depth, or steam, to hold off the Swathers.
Hesston took advantage of four Trojan turnovers and used its stifling defense to bury Hillsboro the second half with 28 unanswered points.
The Trojans return to action Friday hosting the Lyons Lions for the homecoming game.
Kickoff time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
