Ten students from Hillsboro USD 410 have been selected to perform in state honor groups this week at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshops.

Eighth grade students Eva Franz, Jenna Hinerman, Grace Major, and Caleb Rempel along with freshman Josiah Melton were selected by audition to sing with the Kansas Choral Directors Association All-State Treble Chorus under the direction of Meredith Bowen.

These students will participate in a one-day rehearsal culminating in a concert at 5 p.m. Friday in Century II in Wichita.

Seniors Joyann Dirks, Claire Heyen, Daniele Melton, junior Taytum Miller, and sophomore Vance Klassen were selected by audition to sing with the KMEA All-State Honor Choir, the top group for 10th through 12th grade students.

All-State choir students rehearse three days with Director Brad Holmes of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, with a concert performed at 1:15 p.m. Saturday in Century II.

Tickets for both concerts are $7 and are purchased through WichitaTIX.com.
