USD 410 to buy computers
Staff writer
USD 410 Board of Education approved Thursday the purchase of 68 desktop computers, 12 laptop computers, and 1 mini-laptop computer from Twotrees Technologies of Wichita for $62,819.
The board had delayed the decision at its May 9 meeting because members wanted to know what would be done with the old computers. District technology director Jason Henry told the board some of the computers to be replaced will be used in the Hillsboro Middle School computer lab, while others would be spares.
Payment of $66,006 to Jantz Construction for work on the new district office was approved. The district will hold a $10,859 retaining fee from the company until work on the project is completed.
The board had a quorum physically present with board members Gary Andrews, Dale Klassen, and Rod Koons and board president Eddie Weber. Board members Debbie Geis and Joe Sechrist participated via phone.
