Wakefield defeats Goessel, 58-12

It was not until the second quarter that the Bluebirds got onto the scoreboard at Wakefield.Drake Sterk intercepted a pass and ran the ball back three yards out for a Bluebird score.
Trey Schmidt connected with Nic Buller five times on the night on completed passes. Buller went 45 yards with one catch to score.
Wakefield led 14-0 at the end of one quarter and 44-12 at half-time. Goessel was unable to score in the third period and after the Bombers scored twice the game was called due to the 45-point rule with a final score 58-12.
Goessel picked up only 31 yards rushing against the stingy Wakefield defense and 65 yards passing. Trey Schmidt led the team with 18 yards rushing. Sterk gained 13 yards on the ground. Leading the team in tackles was Buller with five. Trey Schmidt, Alex Schmidt, Sterk and Zac Showalter had four each. Shane Goerzen, one of the speedsters on the Goessel team, averaged 10 yards on two kickoff returns and carried the ball once before leaving the game with an injury.
