Wayne Ollenburger
Services for Wayne Gene Ollenburger, 88, who died Saturday at St. Luke Living Center, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Durham.
Relatives will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.
Born Feb. 19, 1937, to Harry and Hannah (Miller) Ollenburger, he grew up on the family’s farm west of Durham, attended Pleasant Valley Grade School, graduated in 1956 from Durham High School, and was baptized at the Church of God in Durham.
He met Carol Ann Klein of Hillsboro at a high school basketball game. They were married Aug. 11, 1956, at First Baptist Church and had two children, son Gerald Wayne Ollenburger and daughter Jean Ann Ollenburger.
After marriage, the Ollenburgers resided in Hillsboro, where he worked for Tip Top Dairies. Later, he had his own business as a milk delivery man. After retiring from that business, he worked at Irv Schroeder County Motors and Midway Motors servicing vehicles. He also collected show vehicles and was a member of Hillsboro Car Club.
Memorials have been established with the church and St. Luke Living Center.
