Won't you be our neighbor?
A familiar character from “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” and his own Public Broadcasting Service show has a new movie soon to be seen in Hillsboro.
Hillsboro Public Library will screen “The Daniel Tiger Movie: Won’t You Be Our Neighbor?” at 10 a.m. Sept. 22.
The movie is an outgrowth of the animated “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” show on PBS, seen at 8:30 a.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m. weekends on KPTS. The “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” show is a spin-off of “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood,” a beloved PBS series that made its debut 50 years ago and aired through 31 seasons.
In the movie, Daniel and his friends welcome neighborhood newcomers, 3-year-old Jodi Platypus and her family. Daniel Tiger is the son of Rogers’ hand-puppet Daniel Striped Tiger.
