In the year of repeats (Moundridge boys third straight Class 2A title, Nemaha Valley girls second straight 3A title, McPherson boys third straight 5A title), the Hillsboro High School boys came within an eyelash of being on that list with their second straight Class 3A crown. In a rematch from last year's semifinal game in Hutchinson, the Trojans lost 53-57 to the Holcomb Longhorns.

Don's Studio has four prints accepted for exhibition at the Kansas Professional Photographers Convention held in Wichita March 6-9. Print Competition as well as teaching seminaries are the key aspects of the convention.

Emprise Bank, N.A., of Hillsboro, recently made a $5,000 donation to the new Student Activity Center at Tabor College.

The flag flew at half mast at the Marion county Courthouse Monday as the commissioners attempted to divide the duties of Charles Penner among employees until someone could be hired to replace him. Penner died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday.
