Nearly 80 Hillsboro High School students attended the regular monthly April chapter meeting of the FFA. Highlighting the meeting was the election of the 1992-93 officers. The new team for next year includes seniors Kevin Winter, Jeremy Johnson, Roxanne Goossen, Michelle Galle and C.J. Dawes, junior Jeremy Duerksen and sophomore Ryan Peters.
Kevin Jantz, Nathan Jost, and Todd Becker of Hillsboro High School participated in the first State Wildlife Management contest in McPherson.
Sonia Huang performed her graduate piano recital recently in Wiegemann Hall on the campus of The Wichita State University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huang of Hillsboro.
Hillsboro High School senior Craig Duerksen verbally committed to play basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates. The school is located in New Jersey.
Fund raising to build a new Scout House totals approximately $25,000. Dean Schroeder, who has been spearheading the efforts, said the logs, doors and windows have been order for the project.
The Hillsboro Star Journal received first place in advertising and third place in special section at the Kansas Press Association 1992 Better Newspaper Contest.
