The Mennonite Central Committee raised approximately $506,000 for world hunger programs. Nearly half of the amount was raised by the quilt sale and the House Against Hunger built by volunteers in North Newton.

Community Action Program, Inc., board members, JoAnn Wall, Randy Wiens, Rene Matz and Cheryl Ratzloff, have allocated the remaining Happy Face Day Care Center funds to the Main Street Apartment playground and the New Scout House project.

The calling has been completed for the 1992 annual Tabor college Alumni Phonathon. A total of $49,445, just short of last year's $50,000 total, was raised during the annul event, according to Alumni Development office Noelle Dick.
