Harold and Marie Jost of Hillsboro will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 45, with a short program and open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro.

The Lehigh High School Alumni Banquet was held May 28 at the Tabor College cafeteria with about 142 alumni attending from California, Arizona, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas.

New Technology President and Tabor college alumnus James Wiebe watched with employees Thursday, June 10, as his Wichita company was included on the credit listing of the new $56 million dinosaur novice, Jurassic Park. Wiebe's company was contacted for their extended memory chips used to produce and play back the movie's computer animations of the dinosaur stars and the havoc they wreak in a modern setting.

The city of Hillsboro is encouraging residents to take advantage of the compost site for yard and garden wastes and grass clippings. The city is not picking up grass clippings because of the current situation the county faces with its solid waste removal.

Ryan Peters, son of Van and Linda Peters of Lehigh, was selected at the state winner in the 4-H Beef Project. Peters' selection was a result of first being selected as an area winner and then competing against four other area winners. Peters will receive a trip to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago.

The Hillsboro swim team won their own meet Saturday. Final team scores were Hillsboro 883, Marion 626, and Halstead 361.
