Tabor College professor Richard Kyle will be participating in several talk shows to promote his recent book, "The Religious Friend." InterVarsity Press is arranging his participation in the shows.

Kansas author Esther (Loewen) Vogt of Hillsboro has announced the release of her 20th novel, "The Lonely Plains," published by Christian Publications/Horizons House of Camp Hill, Pa.

Martha Spremberg of Hillsboro will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house on Saturday, July 11, at the Hillsboro Senior Center.

Ken and Doris Kohlenberg of Argonia announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherry, to Scott David, son of Fred and Doris David of Hillsboro.

A bake sale will be held July 10 in Marion for Hillsboro High School student Harlow Brundage of Peabody. Brundage has been diagnosed with leukemia and remains hospitalized at HCA Wesley Medical Center pediatric intensive care unit in Wichita.

Former Hillsboro High School basketball player Craig Duerksen has signed a basketball letter of intent with Hutchinson Community College for the fall.

This weekend will be the Bull Durham Celebration. The Durham community building will be open at 1 p.m. on Saturday for visiting and refreshments and the alumni banquet in the evening. Sunday morning there will be a combined worship service in the tent downtown with a potluck following.
