Members of the Bernhard E. and Margaret Wiens family had a reunion in the Hillsboro Scout House Saturday, July 3. Mrs. Wiens will be remembered as Margaret Wiens Pauls who was a resident at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro for many years.

Azusa Pacific University student Cameron K. Wiebe of Hillsboro was listed on he academic dean's list at APU. A graduate of Hillsboro High School and the daughter of Gordon and Karen Wiebe, she is honored for a spring semester 1993 academic standing of 3.5 or better.

Amy Leigh Vajnar earned academic honors during the 1993 spring semester at Emporia State University. She is a freshman and daughter of Flo Rahn of Hillsboro.

The USD 410 BOE unanimously approved administrative salaries for the 1993-1994 school as follows: superintendent Gordon Mohn, $58,000 (7.4 percent increase); high school principal Glen Suppes, $50,700 (2.4 percent increase); middle school principal Evan Yoder, $45,200 (2.7 increase); and elementary principal Marilyn Jost, $46,200 (2.7 increase).

The Associated Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK) has received a grant of $594,455 from the U.S. Department of Education to support the training of personnel to work with infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children with disabilities and their families.

Arlene Hett of Hillsboro assumed the position of Director of nursing at Salem Hospital last Thursday. Hett, a registered nurse, has worked that the hospital since June 1, 1969, and is currently the hospital's emergency room supervisor.
